Karl Gross recently opened a new branch office in Haiphong. “We wanted to be right on site personally for our customers located in Northern Vietnam”, says Lam Thi Than Bong, General Manager of Karl Gross Logistics Viet Nam Co., Ltd.. “Haiphong has the most important port in Northern Vietnam. It is the port of Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital. Many shipments that we handle have the port of Haiphong as the port of discharge or port of loading. The new office makes us even more flexible in handling our customer’s shipments to or from Haiphong and the Hanoi area respectively.”
We can provide personal right on site support.
Container traffic at the port of Haiphong has increased significantly over the past several years. Haiphong has become a national logistical hub and it’s advancing as a hub for shipments going to Northeast Laos and Southern China. Our team will mainly handle our client’s ocean freight shipments from Europe. “Shippers and consignees can benefit from our new presence as we can provide personal right on site support”, says Lam.
Of course our specialists on both sides of the transport chain, in Vietnam and in Germany, will keep up their close collaboration. “The new set up is a great opportunity to intensify and expand our services on both sides of the transport chain. Also, there is a deep-water port under construction in Haiphong; the port 'Lach Huyen'. This opens up new service opportunities in the fields of project logistics. Shipments of machinery and industrial equipment are some examples. The state of Vietnam more and more fosters investments, leading to the increasing economic interests in the Northern Vietnam region.” says Bernd Nietert, the Route Manager of Vietnam.
