Strong partnership: Karl Gross and MTS Logistics

As an international freight forwarding and logistics company, Karl Gross is present with offices of their own in many parts of the world. In countries where we do not maintain those, we have selected local partners with whom we maintain very close relationships.

In Turkey, our trusted partner is MTS Logistics. Karl Gross and MTS Logistics have been cooperating for almost 30 years.

MTS Logistics – where, who, what?

MTS Logistics is one of the leading ocean freight forwarders in Turkey. MTS Logistics was founded in 1990 in Izmir and holds offices in many important economic and logistic centers of Turkey: besides Izmir, MTS Logistics is present in Istanbul and Ankara, in Bursa and Mersin. With around 150 employees, the MTS Logistics – just like Karl Gross – is a medium-sized privately owned company.

The main focus of MTS Logistics lies on ocean freight logistics. They offer a broad range of shipping services including ocean freight shipping for containerized cargo or break bulk shipments, for heavy cargo, and Ro/Ro shippings. Organizing pre- and on-carriages within Turkey or to neighbouring countries is also part to their product range. The same applies to storage and warehousing services.

MTS Logistics is a licensed NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) and member of FIATA.

Working hand in hand: Karl Gross and MTS

Immediately after MTS Logistics had been founded, Karl Gross and MTS ‘found each other’ and developed their cooperation ever since. This included developing a common focus in regard to commodities, too. Realizing comprehensive transport solutions for used industrial machinery and plants as well as shipping of steel and steel products are special subjects, Karl Gross and MTS share.

Mutual visits promote personal contacts.

Due to the long-term cooperation, our specialists in Germany and the MTS team in Turkey know ‘how clocks are ticking’ in the other country. They are familiar with the country-specific differences in logistical processes, in daily business operations and in cultural matters. Mutual visits foster personal contacts. This allows the Karl Gross and MTS Logistics team members to always be up-to-date on the local situation and further deepen their country-specific knowledge. And it allows for comprehensive customer care and smooth information flow on both ends of the transport chain.

A special connection

Our partnership has grown for almost 30 years – and is still growing. This has created a strong trustful bond between our teams. The colleagues of our Turkey Department in Bremen, Germany, and the colleagues of MTS Logistics do not see themselves as two separate teams but as one – a solid foundation for a partnership with strong professional know-how and a common understanding on both sides.
